Yesterday is gone
It will never come again
A fleeting moment
.
Vivre pour le jour
Tout ce qui est fait est fait
Hier est parti
.
What is done is done
No use dwelling on the pain
Yesterday is gone
.
Stop focussing on
Attempting to yet sustain
A fleeting moment
.
Vivre pour le jour
Tout ce qui est fait est fait
Hier est parti
.
Rises a new dawn
Though it was not all in vain
Yesterday is gone
.
Comes now a new sun
So let yesterday remain
A fleeting moment
.
Vivre pour le jour
Tout ce qui est fait est fait
Hier est parti
.
Just stop dwelling on
The past or youโll go insane
Nothing there to gain
Because yesterday is gone
Nought but a fleeting moment
A villanelle formed of haiku’s and a tanka, broken up by a recurringย haiku in French. I translated the French part myself, so I hope it’s correct.
Thank youu ๐

“So let yesterday remain, A fleeting moment”. This is a great line, something I should keep in mind. What does the title and the verses in between mean? What language is it in? I’m sorry if it is a stupid question.

“Vivre pour le jour, tout ce qui est fait est fait, hier est parti” is French. It translates as “Live for the day, all that is done is done, yesterday is gone.”

Neither. I just wanted to mix things up a little. ๐
