Being Unique Has Gone Too Far

Another offering from my Bedside Draw. I’m not entirely sure when it was written.

Individuality

Plagues all those in society

I pray for simplicity

Can’t we all be the same?

Trapped in our own self pity

All alone in these crowded cities

There’s no sense of unity

Can’t we all be the same?

Life seems to lack clarity

And seems to have no quality

In all its entirety

Can’t we all be the same?

We long for things in quantity

We all love similarity

Combine this with humanity

Can’t we all be the same?

It will cease hostility

And install positivity

Over negativity

Can’t we all be the same?

No more masculinity

No more femininity

But that means and end

To all sexuality

And the accompanying activity…

Let’s not all be the same

No sex? That’s far too lame
