Take Me To Church

Sometimes they make me want to sing

Sometimes they make me want to cry

But whatever each season brings

My faith will never die

And when the weekend rolls around

And the clock ticks closer to three

There’s only one place I can be found

There’s nowhere else I’d rather be

For Lye Meadow is my altar

And the Shed End is my pew

And though the team may sometimes falter

I’ll stay forever true

Take me to ‘Church every match day

Take me to ‘Church so I can pray

And sing the praises

At the top of my voice

With the rest of the faithful

To Long and the boys

“Come on you Church!

Come on you Church!”

For my local village football team, Alvechurch F.C
