Insomnia
Caused by paranoia
Convinced that if I fall asleep
I may never wake up
And in my state of sleeplessness
My fear only worsens
And when
I do drift off
Panic sets in
And I’m jolted back to wakefulness
Heartbeat racing
Cold sweat forming
I must stay awake
So I can see it coming
If something’s going to get me
Then I am going out fighting
Insomnoparanoia is a word I just made up. I’m going to start compiling a list of all my made up words.
Update 31/05/18: I have since written a short composition which I feel works very well for this poem.
Insomnoparanoia is such an effective word! I think I might use it in future, with your permission of course.
The fears seem so palpable. Well written.

Of course you have my consent
Use it to your heart’s content!
Spread the word
It needs to be heard!
(Along with all the others I invent)

Good rhyme! ππ
I must reply in kind.
I thank thee for thy consent
I don’t think I will at present
But whenever it is my intent
Will give thee credit, 100 percent!
ππ
And now to the daily task of writing for the prompt.

Thank you π
I don’t get any kind of feedback on the platform it’s composed on, so it’s always great to hear from you.

I am amazed that you write as well as compose so well.
On hindsight I shouldn’t be because most musicians are good song writers too. π
