Worth The Fall

They say it’s better to have loved and lost

Then never to have loved at all

But never is the landing ever truly worth the fall

How can it ever be better to lose something

Then to never feel the heartache at all

Better to have lost than never held

Something so pure and beautiful

They say that what you feel at the end

Is a fair price for what you felt before

That the happiness weighs the same as the pain

Maybe even more

Maybe for some this is the case

Maybe for some, but not all

For others the pain of the landing

Will forever weigh more than the joy of the fall

But I can’t stay away from this cliff top of love

I can’t help but stand on the edge looking down

I can’t help but jump and plummet to the earth

Hoping I never have to hit the ground

They say it’s better to have loved and lost

Than never to have loved at all

I just hope that this time the landing

Is for once worth the fall
