Don’t Wear Seatbelts

Don’t wear seat belts lest you drown in your own urine

When life becomes a car crash you’ll need some way of escaping

But you’ll find yourself trapped

Too tightly strapped

Tethered by the harness you once felt so secure in

As your life turns upside down

And the world is spinning around

The panic sets in

You’re letting out urine

So don’t wear seat belts lest you drown

A spambot left the comment “Don’t wear seat belts lest you drown in your own urine?” It initially felt like an essay question but I’ve never been very good at writing essays, so I decided to form a poem around it instead. It’s terrible, I know, and pretty nonsensical. My (insincere) apologies.
