untitled poem – something about anxiety

Excessive self analysing

Serious misgivings

Forever second guessing

Every action, every word

Confronted by

Insurmountable walls of fear

Blocking me

Every way I turn

But I don’t even know

What I am terrified of

I have nothing to fear

Nothing to lose

No money, no fame

Neither popular nor cool

But still I am scared

Of what a single misstep

Might cost

Response to the Word of the Day Challenge prompts: qualm, insurmountable, chic and nervous

  1. Reading this made me tear up a little bit. I go through anxiety and you have captured it perfectly! I hope people struggling with it (and other mental health problems) find a way out because it really gets bad sometimes, support from friends and family and therapy really helps! Also, this is a great poem!!👏
