Some would call
The human race
The pinnacle
Of evolution

But I have to
Disagree
And question
That conclusion

Language
And dexterity
Is to me
A mere illusion

To claim
That we’re evolved
Is the grandest
Of delusions

Our presence
On this planet
Is an unwelcome
Intrusion

Driving species
To extinction
Deforestation
And pollution

Our ability
To destroy
Is our only true
Distinction

No doubt
That humankind
Is this planet’s
Main affliction

It’s clear
That our removal
Is the only
True solution

And believe me
Our world
Will one day
Have retribution
